Last updated: 22 August 2026

1. ABOUT THIS PRODUCT DISCLAIMER

This Product Disclaimer applies to Purrlytics cat litter and related products sold by Mitigen LTD.

Purrlytics is a trading brand operated by Mitigen LTD.

This Product Disclaimer should be read alongside:

- our Terms & Conditions;
- Privacy Policy;
- Cookie Policy;
- Refund & Return Policy;
- product packaging;
- instructions for use;
- product safety information.

By purchasing or using Purrlytics products, you agree to use them responsibly and in accordance with the instructions provided.

2. NOT VETERINARY ADVICE

Purrlytics products are not veterinary products, medicines, diagnostic devices or emergency care tools.

We do not provide:

- veterinary diagnosis;
- medical treatment;
- clinical testing;
- emergency triage;
- prescription advice;
- personalised veterinary recommendations.

Any information provided through our Website, packaging, emails, support, social media or product materials is general information only.

It should not replace advice from a qualified veterinary professional.

3. PH COLOUR RESPONSE DISCLAIMER

Some Purrlytics products include a colour response associated with feline urine pH.

This is intended to support everyday observation.

It is not a diagnosis.

It does not confirm that a cat is healthy.

It does not confirm that a cat is unwell.

It does not identify a specific disease.

It does not replace veterinary testing.

It should not be used as the sole basis for health decisions.

4. FACTORS THAT MAY AFFECT COLOUR RESPONSE

Colour response may be affected by many factors, including:

- amount of urine;
- timing of observation;
- lighting;
- urine concentration;
- water intake;
- diet;
- stress;
- medication;
- supplements;
- household cleaners;
- tray liners;
- other litter;
- residue from previous litter;
- humidity;
- storage conditions;
- contamination;
- number of cats using the tray;
- whether the sample came from the cat you think it came from;
- incorrect use;
- delay before checking;
- human interpretation.

Because of this, colour observations should be treated as signals for awareness, not proof of a medical condition.

5. WHEN TO CONTACT A VET

Contact a qualified veterinary professional if:

- you are worried about your cat;
- colour changes are unusual or persistent;
- your cat’s litter tray behaviour changes;
- your cat is straining;
- your cat is urinating more or less than usual;
- your cat appears in pain;
- your cat is unusually lethargic;
- there is visible blood;
- your cat stops eating or drinking normally;
- you see repeated concerning signs.

For urgent or severe symptoms, seek immediate veterinary help.

Do not wait for, rely on, or attempt to interpret a Purrlytics product response in an emergency.

6. MULTI CAT HOUSEHOLDS

In multi cat households, it may be difficult or impossible to know which cat produced a particular litter tray result.

Colour changes or product observations in shared trays should be interpreted with caution.

Where there is concern, speak to a vet.

7. PRODUCT PERFORMANCE

We aim to provide high quality cat litter.

However, performance may vary based on:

- tray size;
- litter depth;
- number of cats;
- cat behaviour;
- cleaning routine;
- home humidity;
- storage;
- diet;
- urine volume;
- mixing with other products;
- ventilation;
- time between tray changes.

No cat litter can guarantee complete elimination of:

- odour;
- dust;
- tracking;
- mess;
- bacteria;
- allergens;
- moisture;
- household contamination.

8. DUST, TRACKING AND AIR QUALITY

Where we describe a product as low dust or dust free, this refers to product testing, product design or comparative performance.

It does not mean that no particles, residue or dust can ever occur.

Dust and tracking may be affected by:

- shipping movement;
- storage;
- pouring method;
- litter tray design;
- cat digging behaviour;
- humidity;
- broken pellets;
- cleaning routine.

People with asthma, allergies, respiratory sensitivity, pregnancy concerns, immune compromise or other health concerns should take appropriate precautions and seek professional advice where needed.

9. BIODEGRADABILITY AND DISPOSAL

Where we describe a product as biodegradable, plant based or water disintegrating, this refers to the product material characteristics under relevant conditions.

You are responsible for disposal in accordance with:

- packaging instructions;
- local waste rules;
- household plumbing limitations;
- environmental guidance;
- council or water provider rules.

Do not flush cat waste or litter unless the packaging clearly states that flushing is appropriate and local rules allow it.

No statement about water disintegration should be treated as a guarantee that the product is suitable for every plumbing system, septic tank or drainage setup.

10. CLUMPING AND ABSORPTION

Clumping, absorption and odour control can vary depending on:

- amount of liquid;
- litter depth;
- how quickly clumps are removed;
- tray hygiene;
- humidity;
- number of cats;
- cat diet and hydration;
- storage conditions;
- product age;
- whether the litter has been mixed with other products.

Claims about clumping, absorption or odour control are based on expected or tested performance under relevant conditions and may not match every household.

11. SAFETY AND HANDLING

You should:

- keep unused litter dry;
- reseal packaging where possible;
- wash hands after handling used litter;
- dispose of used litter responsibly;
- clean trays regularly;
- keep packaging away from children where appropriate;
- avoid inhaling dust when pouring;
- avoid deliberate ingestion;
- prevent pets from eating the litter;
- store away from food preparation areas.

If your cat repeatedly eats litter or reacts unusually to a product, stop use and contact a vet.

12. CHILDREN AND HOUSEHOLD SAFETY

Purrlytics products are intended for cat litter tray use.

They are not toys.

Children should not play with, eat or intentionally handle used litter.

Used litter may contain urine, faeces, bacteria, parasites or other contaminants.

Pregnant people, immunocompromised people and anyone with specific health concerns should follow appropriate hygiene precautions around litter trays and seek professional guidance where needed.

13. STORAGE

Incorrect storage may affect product performance.

Unless packaging says otherwise, store products:

- sealed;
- dry;
- away from excessive moisture;
- away from strong odours or chemicals;
- away from direct contamination;
- away from pests.

Do not use products that appear contaminated, wet, damaged or materially altered before use.

14. BATCH VARIATION

Purrlytics products may use plant based or naturally derived materials.

Reasonable variations in colour, texture, smell, pellet appearance or packaging do not automatically mean the product is defective.

15. CUSTOMER SUBMITTED OBSERVATIONS

If you send us photographs, colour observations, litter tray notes or product concerns, we may use them to help with customer support, product quality and product improvement.

We cannot provide veterinary diagnosis from customer submitted material.

Our response to a product query should not be treated as medical or veterinary advice.

16. NO GUARANTEE OF OUTCOME

We do not guarantee that use of Purrlytics products will:

- identify health problems;
- prevent health problems;
- remove the need for veterinary care;
- suit every cat;
- suit every household;
- prevent odour entirely;
- prevent tracking entirely;
- remove every hygiene risk;
- produce the same colour response in every situation.

17. PROPER USE REQUIRED

We are not responsible for issues caused by:

- failure to follow instructions;
- misuse;
- mixing with incompatible products;
- use after contamination;
- unsafe storage;
- use outside intended purpose;
- reliance on colour response instead of veterinary advice;
- delay in seeking veterinary care;
- use in unsuitable litter tray setups;
- disposal contrary to instructions or local rules.
